The Lumia 920 contains the Nokia Smart Shoot app, which lets users capture the best parts of a photo by using a lens for the Camera app that takes a number of photos in quick succession. This application integrates technology from Scalado which was acquired by Nokia in 2012.

Battery and Storage:
The phone has a 2000 mAH Li-ion battery which provides up to 17 hours of talk time in 2G and 10 hours in 3G. The Samsung Galaxy Camera is an incredible device . It is a very successful merger of compact camera and Android this is what called engineering and innovation.

Whoever has used android device will be immediately familiar to the Operational features of this device. As one would expect you can organize the widgets and icons, install apps , share on the go.

It has combined the all good features of both dSLR and a compact.

It’s all controlled by tapping and dragging the screen, without using a stylus, as the only buttons are the power, shutter release and flash release. The zoom is physical, too, implemented as a regular rocker around the shutter button, but you can tap the screen to focus and fire the shutter, as well as start video recording.

It’s got 10GB of built-in flash storage, of which just 3.87GB is available for use, for storing photos and apps. Additional storage is handled by a microSD card.

No Surprise mode selector is rendered in software itself, select your mode as per your  shot requirements.

It’s here where Samsung has shown that they are masters in Android and hardware as well. A unique combination which has made this a innovative device more powerful. It also has voice control literally you can ask your camera to zoom in and out, take shot, set timer, select mode, activate flash. What else you need from a “super smart camera”.

I would say this will be the right choice for you, if you are looking for a smart camera. In India one can order thru Samsung india estore for Rs29900.

Happy Shooting 🙂

Windows Blue…. the next next generation OS from Microsoft.. Is that true?

July10 WindowsTeamBlog Windows8 550x309 Windows 8 Successor, Already in the Works? With Windows 8 launched just a month ago.. already there are rumours of project named as Windows Blue or Blue being worked upon in Microsoft. If reports are to be believed this project was existing well before Windows 8 launch and can be launched next year.

Well there should be some fire if smoke is coming out, lets assume that this is true then what does it mean?
Microsoft may change its strategy for Operating Systems, as releasing an OS waiting for that to settle , then releasing Service packs and all, instead it may follow what other competitors are doing in Market This comes in with redesigned user interface, new features, and more affordable upgrade pricing structure. Simply put, Microsoft will be adopting Apple and Google’s strategy

If there are releases every year, that means the price can also get reduced what we are paying now for MS OS, but the real challenge to Microsoft would be to manage cross platform SDK, it should not make feel developers Alienate. As the updates should not make developers working on windows apps for mobiles, tablets , PCs feel unsecure.

So far nothing is clear whether next update would be a major one or minor. But it would be interesting to see what it brings for the users, developers and competitors.

Apple’s ultra-thin iMac – available from Nov-30

Apple finally confirmed that the 21.5-inch version of the new, ultra-thin desktop will be available on Nov. 30.
“Isn’t it amazing how something new makes the previous generation instantly look old?” asked Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Phil Schiller, when he first unveiled what a press release calls “the most advanced desktop Apple has ever made.” The new iMac looks quite similar to the previous generation from the front, but from the side, it is incredibly clear that the desktop has undergone a significant redesign: It has an edge that’s a mere 5 millimeters thin. There is, of course, a bit of a bulge in the middle of the computer’s back, for the sake of some internal components, but it still has about 40 percent less internal volume than its older variants and weighs about eight pounds less.
The new iMac is offered in 21.5-inch and 27-inch versions, which start at $1,300 and $1,800, respectively. The new desktops have displays with 75 percent less reflection than the prior generation and a Fusion Drive option (which combines a standard hard drive and a flash-based one to offer up to 60 percent faster performance).
While the 21.5-inch version of the new iMac will begin arriving in customers’ homes on Nov. 30, its 27-inch counterpart won’t begin shipping until December, according to a press release issued by Apple.

Tried(Actually purchased and) Samsung washing machine .. Wobble technology

If  someone asks you what’s that you hate doing, many people may have many such tasks/activities/work for me it is washing clothes, yuk i hate this but dude you have to do it. Imagine you are enjoying friday night suddenly a thought comes and says in your mind “you have to wash your dirty clothes (ofcourse there would be a pile of such clothes unless you wash your clothes daily 🙂 )

Thank god in India, your wife is all get set ready to take such kind of responsibilities for you. Life got bit easier after marriage but still she is also human she also gets tired washing clothes. So decided to buy a new washing machine. As most people do we started browsing different different machines results from google. Researched a bit in our circle and finally selected Samsung for adding new electronics item in house.
OMG , lots of technologies named, you can’t touch and feel you can’t ask for demo without installation or to be more precise without purchasing. Just going by the terms and some understanding i liked Wobble technology (which keeps your clothes seperated during wash dont mix up with each other and provides good quality washing. I purchased one fully automated, 6.2 kg, top load machine with wobble technology.
I purchased that in hyderabad for Rs 13.5K , now a days same model comes around 17K, lucky me bought at right time. So now, we have no worries about clothes, no jhanjhat like in semiautomatic machines keep watching, changing from wash drum to drier, saves lots of manual effort , saves lots of space.
Coming to drawback, as such i have not noticed any drawback but what i felt was that my clothes would come out completely dry but to my disappointment i still have to dry them, though water is squeezed to its limit but still i was thinking clothes would come out practically dry. Another point is we need continous water supply and pressure of water should be quite good otherwise 30 mins cycle can take 2 hrs also.
Overall satisfied with what i bought :).
P.S. :- Trying out my household products first before going to new products in market.

Nikon L26 – My first digital Camera

var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-36684355-1’]); _gaq.push([‘_setDomainName’, ‘blogspot.in’]); _gaq.push([‘_setAllowLinker’, true]); _gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]); (function() { var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true; ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://’ : ‘http://’) + ‘stats.g.doubleclick.net/dc.js’; var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s); })(); pay per click

Finally I got my own camera … after long wait, thinking of budget and quality , requirement and time finally got it. Yes this was the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras (“A festival in India usually known for buying new things”) .

After a lot of research on camera reviews and prices on all sort of websites Nikon L26 clicked my mind with 16.1 Mega pixels , 5X optical zoom, easy to shoot feaures and less than 200 gm of weight. On most of websites it was offered between 5200-5500 Rs. I got it from a local shop after lot of bargaining @4700Rs. Yes i had to sacrifice on UCB watch for that deal which was supposed to be free if i would have paid 200 Rs more but I was not interested in that. But still I got 4GB SD card, 1 Pouch, 2 rechargable NiMh batteries.

After getting this camera I started clicking by taking photos of my 4 months old daughter picture quality is really good and also operating is very easy. Any novice also can click great photos. One disadvantage i felt is that some times when I press button to click photos , shooting mode changes automatically and a potential good shot is missed may be because i have to explore bit more on settings part.

Overall highly recommended product from my side for those who don’t want to miss any moment of life and at same time doesn’t want to spend much money on buying digital cameras.

P.S.:- This my first blog. Comments are welcome.
